The Power of Finding Your Truth Part II

I have come to discover that finding one’s truth is an ongoing expedition. LIfelong to be exact. And that’s okay. I know we all like tasks we can check off and be done with but honestly, there are very few that fall into that category. Most everything I can think of is a task that will, at some point, need to be revisited.

This week I have come to relearn the importance of listening to oneself when finding the right protocol. I believe this is key in so many areas of our lives but for me it was..what do ya know?? Fitness.

I have been trying to uplevel my body comp ie more muscle, less fat. I decided that I needed to commit to strength training on the regular. I found a trainer and purchased her app. It has been awesome, really. I get specific workouts each time I take my app to the gym. I get to put in my reps and weights and basically, just show up cuz she has it all planned for me. But, her program is ideally set up for 4 days/week of lifting and the other days used as recovery days. She recommends walking.

Of course, I wanted to keep running so I told her how bout I do 3 days/week of strength and 3 days/week of running? Well, that worked fairly well for 7ish weeks. On week 8..at the completion I noticed that I was exhausted and my body just hurt everywhere. I was tired by early afternoon most days etc. And…to top it off…I have gained a significant amount of weight.

Time for me to pause and listen to my body. Time to find out what is true for me.

I went searching for a quote to amplify “my listening as the beginning of living your truth” and I came across this gem.

I love this so much!

The FIRST step is SILENCE. So important for me. I find myself so saturated at times with all of the incoming messages that it is important for me to pause in silence and let my own thoughts marinate. And like I alluded in my previous post, this allows the divine within me to have a voice and to communicate with me.

Leading to the second step: LISTENING. It is so important to stop and listen. In my {this week’s} example, listening to what my body was trying to yell to me.

And just so you know…I decided to:

I love that the third step is REMEMBERING. Often times it seems I learn a really important lesson and then quickly move ahead. I am going to ponder how best for me to remember. One thing I did, recently, was when my husband started telling me details of his day, I actually took a few notes to help myself remember. I take a lot of notes but I need to figure out sticky notes or some way to rotate the gems in and out of my awareness.

Now to the fourth step: PRACTICING. So important to recognize that this step is not mastery but practice. This allows us to accept the fact that we will not do it well {always} and that we will need repetition to improve just like every skill requires practice.

And finally we come to TEACHING OTHERS. This, for me, is the fun piece. I love sharing what truths I have found with others. And in this case it would be the ability to discover one’s truth, act in integrity with said truth and unlock the power that this revelation provides.

I would love to help you find your truth via listening+remembering+practicing.
